Reuben E. Anderson, 87, Orofino sawyer

      OROFINO - Reuben Emanuel Anderson, 87, a sawyer from Orofino, died of causes related to age Saturday at the Orofino Care Center.
      He was born Nov. 22, 1910, to Henry and Helene Anderson at Wilton, Minn. He grew up on the family homestead helping on the farm with his eight brothers and sisters. Later he and his brothers went to North Dakota to look for work during the harvest season. He came to Idaho in 1936 and worked in the woods. He also spent some time traveling the Northwest with his brother Adolph and others working in the woods. Timber falling was his lifetime occupation.
      He married Rosa Etta Pottenger at Boise.
      They lived at Council, Idaho. In 1949 they moved to Orofino and farmed.
      His survivors include two sons, Delbert Anderson of Drummond, Mont., and Mark Anderson of Orofino; two daughters, Reuby Curfman and Carrol Frederiksen, both of Orofino; a brother, Norman Anderson of Bemidji, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
      He was preceded in death by his wife; three brothers, Adolph, Henning and Anton; and four sisters, Esther, Clarissa, Lyla and Minnie.
      Viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
      The Rev. Tom Goff of Orofino will officiate.
